What is Hormone Therapy (HT)?
You deserve to feel your best at every age. We are here to help.
At Pure Wellness Group, Hormone Therapy is primarily prescribed using human-identical hormones. While still a pharmaceutical prescription, these formulations are prepared by compounding pharmacists to produce hormones that are structurally identical to those naturally made by the human body, including estrogens, progesterone, and thyroid hormones.
Human-identical hormones differ from synthetic hormones in important ways. Because their structure matches the body’s own, they may mimic natural physiology more closely. By contrast, synthetic hormone replacements, although effective, have been associated in some studies with relatively higher risks.
Each patient receives a customized formulation based on their unique symptoms, deficiencies, and health goals. Prescribed by your Naturopathic Doctor, treatment is carefully monitored for safety and effectiveness.
Research suggests that HT may help alleviate symptoms of PMS, menopause, and andropause (age-related hormonal decline in men).
For more than 25 years, Pure Wellness Group has seen firsthand the positive impact this therapy can have for some patients. If you are interested in HT or are seeking alternatives to synthetic hormone therapy, we invite you to consult with one of our Naturopathic Doctors.
When it comes to hormone therapy, one size does not fit all. Treatment is a precise, individualized science. Our professional team will be glad to determine whether HT is safe and appropriate for you.
Step by step
Here is a step-by-step guide to starting Hormone Therapy:
You will have an initial health screening with a Naturopathic Doctor to discuss your health history and to determine if Hormone Therapy is appropriate for you.
Required laboratory testing may include: relevant blood work and/or salivary hormonal panel.
Required physical exams may include one or more of the following completed within the last six months: breast exam, breast thermography, breast mammography, pelvic/transvaginal ultrasounds, cervical health exam.
Your Naturopathic Doctor will discuss any additional testing that may be required or suggested before the onset of treatment.
Once a unique prescription has been formulated for you, you will receive a call from your Pharmacy. You will arrange for payment of your prescription with the Pharmacy directly.
